Standing at stud for the first time in 2022
Inquieto is a Warlander stallion that brings a unique offering to breeders looking to inject some baroque strength into their breeding programs without sacrificing athleticism or beauty. He offers the high neck set and action of the Friesian with the smoothness and stamina of the Andalusian horse. Arabian breeders looking for a unique outcross for Hunter horses and Country English Horses should take notice of this stallion.
Inquieto is a highly trainable, energetic individual who has been featured in numerous magazines, calendars, art pieces and promotional materials for the Andalusian Association (IALHA), the Warlander Studbook Society (WSS), supplement makers, sculptors, and photographers. Standing an impressive 16.3hh, Inquieto is a striking individual. His sire, Hummer, is a well-known individual whose beauty has inspired many over the years and Inquieto is Hummer’s most look-alike son. Inquieto’s mother is a beautiful black Andalusian mare.
While a relatively young breed, the Warlander was established to bring together the beauty and gentle nature of the Friesian with the athleticism and hardiness of the Andalusian (or similar). The cross has yielded talented dressage, driving, and exhibition horses with a unique beauty. This blend of breeds has a historical precedent as well since Andalusian and Arabian blood was introduced to Friesians in the 16th and 17th centuries, though the Friesian has remained pure since that time.
Friesians were used in battle in medieval times as well as in riding schools in Paris and Spain during the 15th and 16th centuries. One can also find them in history books pulling carriages for English royalty. With their high knee action and refinement, they have been long adored by equine enthusiasts.
Andalusians were bred by Carthusian monks throughout the Middle Ages and descended from the Iberian and Barb horses brought over by the Moors. Andalusians have long been praised as superior horses of war. The Andalusian was the choice of conquerors such as Xenophon, Hannibal, William the Conqueror, and the Roman army. Later in their history, the Andalusian was present at virtually every royal court in Europe as well as numerous riding academies. From bull fighting, to war, to pleasure riding the Andalusian is an energetic, sensitive, and agile partner with a distinctive silhouette.
Inquieto has the potential to cross to numerous breeds with many registration opportunities including via IALHA, WSS, Friesian derivative registries, WSS Sport Horse, and AHA. He is an approved breeding stallion through the Warlander Studbook Society.
