We are fortunate enough to have an embryo right from ISRA Arabians for 2021. We look forward to using this incredible young mare to bring a new dimension to our program by pairing her with World Champion EKS Farajj. MD Athena has already proven a dynamic young show mare by capturing titles in deep competition including World Cup Gold Champion Auction Yearling Filly, Region 9 Reserve Yearling Champion, US National Top 10 Yearling Filly, Mid-Summer National Top 10 (3rd) and Scottsdale Top 10 2-year-old filly.
MD Athena was bred by Criadero Madrano of Ecuador. Manuel Durini’s powerful, boutique breeding program enjoys global admiration thanks to the wave of champions the Durini family has gifted US show rings and beyond.
MD Athena is sired by 2x US National Champion, Arabian Breeders World Cup Silver Champion, and Scottsdale Reserve Champion Truest. Truest is a tall, bay stallion with an exceptionally long neck and swan-like silhouette. He is sired by the flaxen chestnut Trussardi, a National Champion son of Stival out of the legendary dam of Versace, Precious As Gold.
Truest’s dam is the Marwan Al Shaqab daughter Marlene Dietrich who is out of the black US National Champion mare, Bey Fireeshah.
While MD Athena’s sire line is impressive, it is her dam line that distinguishes her as an elite breeding prospect. Her mother is the Ecuadorian National Champion *Anastasiaa, a daughter of the beautiful black stallion ATA Bey Starr. *Anastasiaa’s dam is Showgirl SP, a daughter of Brazilian National Champion Shaklans Padron NA.
*Anastasiaa is the dam of National Champion Mare MD Hibat Allah by DA Valentino. MD Hibat Allah is a producer of multiple Regional and National winners including the beautiful, black Canadian National Champion Futurity Filly Najima Aria. *Anastasiaa also produced Scottsdale Silver Champion colt Epiic.
In addition, *Anastasiaa is the dam of the beautiful MD Psylk by Padrons Psyche who produced Scottsdale Silver Champion & legendary broodmare MD Mirka.
MD Mirka is the mother of Scottsdale Gold Champion Yearling Fillies MD Alihandra by EKS Alihandro and MD Massima by Truest (a nearly ¾ sibling to MD Athena). MD Massima was also named 2020 US National Champion Yearling Filly.
MD Athena’s first foals will be born in 2022. We are excited to have one of the embryo rights from her freshman year as a producer by World Champion EKS Farajj.
